Studying at university level can be tricky. You can have lots of fun and enjoy the course you are studying but it can be difficult to navigate the rules and nuances of academia and show off your knowledge and understanding.
My resources and advice are designed to try and decode these rules so you can reach your full potential and not be held back by academia. What I share is based on my own experiences as a student and educator, and is backed by research.
However, each university, college, course and so on can have their own specific requirements so make sure you know what these are too.
It can be difficult to know how best to support your child’s learning especially if they experience barriers to education or just don’t really like school.
The resources and advice I share are about how you can foster a love of learning. It is not about trying to replicate school at home as we want home to be home and school to be school. This is about taking the pressure off and creating ways to learn that are relaxed and enjoyable. When this is in place the rest can follow.
The tips I share are based on years working with charities supporting children struggling with school and research into how parents can help.
Inclusive education is an important feature of all levels of education but it can feel overwhelming and another agenda on a long list you need to manage.
The resources and tips I share are based on being an educator myself as well as the research I have carried out with both students and teachers. My approach is to provide simple ways that learning can become more inclusive, interactive and welcoming.
These may not change the fundamental barriers we face to inclusion, but they can help to make everyday teaching and learning a little bit better.
